REM – Local Voices is Here!

REM is pleased to announce the publication of the summer issue of Local Voices, its thrice-annual, eight-page community newspaper. Each issue is full of articles about the activities of REM and other nonprofit organizations in the Waterville area. In this issue, you'll have the chance to read all about:

  • REM's Arts in the Park in Castonguay Square on Thursday afternoons in July
  • The upcomming Maine International Film Festival
  • REM's Community Catalyst Checkup that was held in May
  • The Alfond Youth Center's Awards Dinner and Annual Appeal
  • New technology at MaineGeneral to treat stroke victims
  • New cardiology services at Inland Hospital
  • Hardy Girls Healthy Women's summer programs for girls in grades 3-6
  • A "healing garden" at the Hospice Community Center in Waterville
  • The upcoming season for Aqua City Actors' Theatre
  • . . . and much more!

Morning Sentinel subscribers in most Waterville-area towns will find a copy of Local Voices in their Wednesday newspaper, July 1. For everyone else or anyone who wants extra copies, we'll have them available in the REM office and at various other locations around the area.

For your convenience, we've posted selected articles elsewhere on this website. You can also download the entire issue as a PDF. (The file is 4.62 MB and requires Adobe Reader for viewing.)

As always, we welcome your comments about this issue. Just use our Feedback Form to let us know what you think. If we get a lot of interesting responses, we'll post some on REMnet. If you don't want your reply to be posted, just let us know.
