Hospice Volunteer Training (Sept 10, 2012)

Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area (HVWA) will offer a certified Hospice Volunteer training beginning Monday, September 10, 2012. If you are interested in sharing 2-4 hours a week with individuals and family members who are facing a life threatening illness you can help make living each day a gift. Your support may include: companionship, letter writing, life review, reading, compassionate listening, respite for the caregiver or bereavement support for family members.

Our training classes will run Monday and Wednesday evenings September 10, 12, 17, 19, 26, and October 1 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. A pre-training interview is required as space is limited. For more information or to schedule an interview, please contact Marilyn Pelletier, Volunteer Coordinator at 873-3615 x 11 or email her at mpelletier@hvwa.org . There is a $30 process and materials fee. Scholarships are available. Training applications can be requested by calling 873-3615 or online at www.hvwa.org/help-hospice.shtml
