Skowhegan Public Library – An Evening with the Stars (Nov. 14)

The Skowhegan Free Public Library, like many other libraries in the State of Maine, is renovating its historic building to make it handicapped accessible. With so many libraries taking the plunge into this expensive, but worthwhile endeavor the Library Renovation Committee has answered the challenge of fundraising by finding fun and exciting ways to raise money.

Last year, “An Evening with the Stars: Dance Spectacular 2008” created a dance sensation and the Skowhegan Opera House was packed to capacity. Former teacher, Judith Yeaton Gamage was the mastermind behind the hugely popular production and her enthusiasm drew many new faces onto the stage.

Back by popular demand, “An Evening with the Stars~American Style Dance Spectacular 2009” will take place on November 14, at 7 p.m. at the beautifully renovated Skowhegan Opera House located on the top floor of the Skowhegan Municipal building. Professional dancers from all over Central Maine have donated their time and energies to produce this original event.

Community members such as Skowhegan Town Manager John Doucette will be seen performing live on stage. And this show promises many exciting surprises as well.
