Living Water Spiritual Center: A Gem in Central Maine

By Susan MacKenzie

Bench on Living Water Nature TrailDid you know that you can experience an affordable spiritual retreat without traveling out of state? Living Water Spiritual Center in Winslow offers hospitality, spiritual reflection and growth to people of all faith traditions. Located on 61 acres alongside the Sebasticook River, with a network of four maintained woodland trails, a gazebo, and pool, the Center is a safe and peaceful setting to enjoy nature and solitude while drawing closer to God.

Bridge on Living Water Nature TrailWe offer book studies, day-long programs, and overnight retreats of varying lengths. The Center's cheery and clean private rooms, home-cooked meals, and a well-stocked library delight first-time and returning visitors. A sample of our programs include: Retreat 101: a weekend introduction to the retreat experience; a series on spirituality and world religions; a workshop on children's spirituality; and retreats to support men and women in recovery.

We offer EarthWorks, an enrichment program for children and youth on the topic of spirituality and nature; and spiritual guidance is available from trained spiritual directors. Or, if you have a group that is looking for space for a daytime meeting or a comfortable place for your overnight program, please call to inquire about our hosting facilities. The Center is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyons, with an interfaith advisory board and program committee. Call 207-872-2370 for a free booklet or more information.
