Published as a Public Service by REM, Convenor of Collaborative Community Enterprises

Welcome to Local Voices, REM's community newspaper! Published occasionally since 2000, REM currently produces two or threeissues a year.

Each issue features a variety of articles and essays about the activities of area nonprofit organizations and other community events and trends. If you would like to write for a future issue, please review our editorial policy and submission guidelines.

Our print editions comprise six to twelve pages of articles and photographs, some in color. We currently distribute around 12,000 copies of each issue throughout Greater Waterville. Most of them are inserted into copies of the Morning Sentinel, Waterville's daily newspaper.

The following issues are currently available online:

Selected articles from the Summer 2009 issue will be posted online shortly. For now, click here to download a PDF version of the entire issue (4.62 MB, Adobe Reader required.) Printed copies of this issue are available in the REM office at 93 Main Street in Waterville.

Local Voices is produced entirely by volunteers—we have no paid staff! If you would like to help, please write to us or call the REM office during normal business hours at (207) 873-4444. In addition to writers, we are also looking for people to edit articles, lay out the print edition, raise money for printing, and perform many other tasks large and small.
