REM Community Catalyst 2009 |

Report from REM's DreamcatcherOn behalf of the entire community, I thank those of you who were able to participate and share your knowledge, experience, time and creativity at Community Catalyst 2009. You were wonderful! I thought Colin Hickey at the Sentinel did a great job of portraying the essence of the second day of work. (Click here to read his article.) We have posted the community initiatives on our site. My concentration will be on those listed at the end of each initiative list. These will be the focus for 2009 for REM. It's all up to the community now. Please do what you can to pass the information along. If you'd like to connect to any of the initiatives underway, please let me know. I will be sending out the list of initiatives to all of the REM Partner organizations and to any other organizations for which I can find the email addresses. We will find out which of these initiatives are also being addressed by others in the community. One of the realities that came out in the meeting was that sometimes it will take many, many groups working on an initiative to actually affect an objective. REM will publish a report which shows what everyone is doing. The community has also requested that we make the check-up on our community vision an annual event. We will convene community in 2010 to do so. Here's the list of initiatives. Please contact REM with any questions or to volunteer to work on an initiative.
