For over 50 years the Al Corey Orchestra has been bringing the Big Band sounds of the 40's to Central Maine and the surrounding areas. For over two decades they were a yearly fixture at the Governor's Ball playing the tunes of the Glenn Miller and the Count Basie bands. Their repertoire includes such tunes as "One O'clock Jump", "Moonlight Serenade" and "In the Mood". The band has played an annual free concert at Colby College for the past 27 years. The Colby Jazz Band is open to all student saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass guitar and drum players on an audition basis.
